Clinical Nutrition

Clinical Nutrition analyses the complex relationship between food and health. Food itself can be a powerful factor in the treatment. Hippocrate, the father of medicine, said: “Leave your drugs in the chemist’s pot, if you can cure the patient with food.” You will get a thorough assessment of your diet and get recommendations on your nutrition with individual approach of your nutritional deficiencies and health needs. If appropriate, supplements (vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other nutraceuticals) will be recommended according to your age, sex and health status.

Botanical (Herbal medicine)

Botanical (Herbal medicine) is the science of using plant substances to treat the sick. Herbs have been valued in all cultures throughout history from the most ancient time. They have a very powerful healing effect. You can get prescriptions of herbs in different forms: teas, tinctures, extracts, ointments and creams.

Homeopathy

Homeopathy was developed in the 18th century by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann. It is a holistic approach of treating diseases using minute remedies derived from plant, animal and mineral substances and is based on the principle of “like cures like”. In order to help your naturopathic doctor identify the appropriate homeopathic remedy, accurate observation and reporting of your symptoms is very important. Homeopathic remedies stimulate the immune system and the body’s natural healing response.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture

TCM is a complete medical system that includes acupuncture, as well as use of botanical formulas and dietary changes. According to TCM health is determined by a balanced flow of Qi, the vital energy present in all living organisms. Acupuncture involves the stimulation of certain specific points on the body along Qi pathways called “channels” or “meridians”. Individual points have specific therapeutic effects on the body’s organs, channels and vital energy. When acupuncture needles are inserted into these points they improve and balance the flow of energy and consequently relieve pain, and restore health. General sessions last 15-30minutes. Being relaxed and positive helps patients maximize the benefits of acupuncture treatments.
